       Mayodan's Homecoming Festival

Every year for the past 23 years, the Mayodan Merchants or the Mayodan Preservation League has hosted the Mayodan Homecoming Festival.

This is a one day event featuring live entertainment, great food, arts and crafts, children activities, games and much, much more. The event is held on Main St and Second Ave (Business Hwy 220) the second weekend in September from 10am until 10pm and is free and open to the public.

If you decide to join in the fun, bring the family and a lawn chair for the special guest band starting at 8pm. It is a day of family fun you will not forget.

The Lighting of Mayodan's Christmas Tree

Located on the corner of Main Street and 2nd Ave every Christmas season you can always find a huge 10ft+ Christmas Tree standing on the corner watching over the town of Mayodan, thanks to the Mayodan Preservation Club and the Merchants of Mayodan. The tree is decorated with beautiful lights and in years passed was topped with a Moravain star. However, the Moravain Star, now hangs in the center of town guiding all who pass under its glow.

As part of the tradition of the Christmas Tree, the townspeople are invited to gather on the first Sunday in December for hot-chocolate, singing carols, a visit from Santa and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Come join the fun, dress warm, bring the family and we will see you at 6pm the first Sunday in December.
