They’re written in countless books and passed down as folk wisdom. Proverbs, on the other hand, can be much longer than aphorisms and adages. Another aphorism that’s adapted is, Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Thomas Jefferson also mirrored this general idea when he said, I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have. Honesty is the best policy. One of his most notable is, An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Let’s talk about that. Give it a try! Truthfully, there aren’t huge differences between the three. Proverbs, on the other hand, can be much longer than aphorisms and adages. The meaning. Opportunities don’t happen. Let me ask you.
